XXV

  1. I constantly try to find the meaning in things. Why this is this, why he is who he is, why I exist. I’m constantly searching for the things that will complete my life and existence.
  2. My spirit is a vagabond. I experience such an exhilarating rush just being elsewhere. I can sense the difference of the air and the motion of a place just by being there. When I get older I know I will be constantly in motion all over the globe.
  3. Everything fascinates me. everything. The snow on trees, the anatomy of a tangerine, time travel and the universe. And I get too excited about it.
  4. A favorite past time of mine is people watching. It’s incredible that every single human on earth has his or her own unique story. Seven billion different stories, all on the same planet.
  5. I like cats.
  6. I’m a mom, apparently. To everybody. I have been called mom more times than I can count on my fingers.
  7. I don’t like to talk about myself. I only mention things about me if a certain topic comes up in conversation. In other words, I don’t wait for my turn to talk.
  8. I am viewed as the quiet, content, fashionable, creative and intellectual Asian girl. Well, I assume so.
  9. I honestly do not think I can think of 17 more things to write about myself. Hmm. I skip class a lot, usually to go to Dunkin Donuts or hang out with Ms. Thomas.
  10. I tear up when I see something beautiful. It can be as simple as seeing a magnificent sunset, landscapes, music, happy moments.
  11. I am rebellious. Especially against my parents. They were strict. They raised me well. Showed me good examples, stayed by my side. They never beat me or locked me up. I was never miserable. But they know that they could never stop me, and that power I have feels incomprehensible.
  12. I value every single friendship I have created. Through my friends, I learn about myself. I stay true and loyal. I never speak bad about any of them, I do not gossip or tell lies. I’m never manipulative.
  13. I am literally a faucet of hope and determination. I know that nothing can bring me down because I know I can stand on my own.
  14. I like that I don’t belong in the ‘social norm.’ It’s nice to have my own opinions and thoughts about the world.
  15. I like to write a lot. But if you haven’t noticed that by now, it’s probably because you stopped reading at the word ‘vagabond.’ (Which by the way means rootless, traveling aimlessly.)
  16. I am spiritual and superstitious. I believe in everything until it is disproved. It makes reality more fun that way. I don’t think people should just accept everything as it is because maybe things just aren’t.
  17. If I could choose one musical artist that could play the soundtracks to my life, it would be The Pillows.
  18. I am a poet and
    you know it.
  19. I find the concept of Love fascinating. (See, I told you!) That there is an invisible force between two human beings that draws passion, life and euphoria. Something that deeply alters one’s state of mind and being, something existence altering. And i’m on the look out for it.
  20. I believe that i’m on the right path in life. On my seventeenth birthday, my good friend gave me a card that had a saying engraved on the front:- A HAPPY LIFE –
    To live with purpose
    To say the courageous thing,
    To celebrate the simple gift,
    To follow your dreams,
    This is a happy life.
    ~ Wayland Henry

The card was extremely meaningful to me and my life. Then, for a Christmas present from Jill, the woman I babysit for, I got this beautiful plaque that read ‘Happiness’ across it with the Chinese symbol for happiness painted on the middle. I just have a feeling that I’m truly following my dreams and staying true to myself.

  21. I love when i’m impulsive: when I go out and party and have fun and twirl life around in my hands, but I also value solitude: when I sit at a cafe, book and tea in hand, literally. I am a paradox.
  22. When I have bad nightmares or when i’m depressed I call my cousin Jun. I can cry when I talk to him on the phone. He makes me feel better.
  23. My cousin Jessica and I feed off each other’s energies. We are very similar but still world’s apart. We find things in each other that we envy and together use it to become two very amazing people.
  24. I have many older friends and a few are actually closer to me than my friends who are my age. (Like Hope or Fernando. I can talk to them, and they listen.)
  25. I want you to know that I will never forget you. Any of you. You are a puzzle piece to my soul–incomplete still.
